IMS is now seeking an experienced PALLIATIVE CARE NURSING MANAGER.

The role

The self-contained hospice offers an interdisciplinary healthcare team of palliative care specialists working together provide complete palliative care aimed at relieving symptoms and giving physical, social, emotional and spiritual support to its residents. Under the leadership of the Clinical Director, the Nurse Clinical Manager will be responsible for Directing and coordinating activities of Patient Care Administration within the assigned Department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provides nursing leadership and management of the unit
  • Ensures action plans are implemented to meet the organization’s strategic goals as measured by the strategic and Departmental dashboards.
  • Offers clinical expertise and leadership as requested by their Clinical Director in carrying out the Strategic Direction and Service Development.
  • Accountable for budget performance and labor costs for Unit.
  • Develops and implements a performance improvement plan for their Unit
  • Monitors daily, weekly and monthly operational and clinical indicators
  • Reviews time and attendance. Adjust staff allocations according to patient needs and acuity.

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • Five years management experience (either in a supervisory or functional area)
  • Proven clinical management record with senior leadership potential
  • Eligible for registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council
  • Experience and training relevant to Palliative/ Hospice Care
  • Current CPR, BLS
