We are seeking a qualified, highly motivated and skilled professional nurse to work in a supportive, but demanding environment. The ability to work harmoniously within a team of professionals is critical as we continue to improve patient care.

IMS is seeking ONCOLOGY CLINICAL MANAGER. As a key member of the Cancer Team, the post holder will monitor patient pathway progress and support the achievement of the defined cancer standards. The post holder will work with all members of the Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) as the focal point for the smooth running, administration and organisation of a tumour site specific MDT service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Navigating the overall Patient’s pathway, liaising with Medical, Nursing, Therapy and community based Staff
  • Monitoring cancer pathway activities regarding utilization, identifying pathway inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Supporting and promoting the achievement of a standard of care consistent with decreasing In-Patient resource utilization
  • Working in conjunction with Tumor Registry Lead, facilitating data collection for diagnosed and suspected cancer Patients
  • During hospitalization, facilitates smooth transition to other care agencies / providers where necessary
  • Improving data collection, storage and retrieval for analysis regarding the delivery of the Cancer Program
  • Develops quality assurance programs, assisting with evaluations and establishing protocols for service delivery
  • Organizing on-going staff educational opportunities for all levels and Departments interacting with the cancer population
  • Preparing and facilitating weekly tumor site MDT meetings
  • Leads and maintains Accreditation Canada and Joint Commission International Certifications (where appropriate) and related protocols and initiatives

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Master’s / Pots-grad education preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous clinical experience with cancer Patients
  • Eligible for registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council
  • Bachelors / Master’s degree
  • Experience of working in cancer services is essential
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS)
  • Project management (CAPM or PRINCE) designation from an approved Institute an asset
