The client is now looking for a number of experienced nurses including an Intravenous Therapy Nurse for its I.V. Therapy Department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviews Physicians orders for phlebotomy and/or intravenous therapy, assesses clients, formulates a plan, executes intervention and evaluates outcomes
- Identifies appropriate individual patient needs and point of care as they relate to phlebotomy and/or intravenous therapy and is able to apply a multi-disciplinary collaborative effort of support services/healthcare
- Skillfully performs venipunctures
- Monitors and cares for patient population from pediatric to the elderly
- Provides knowledgeable care and maintenance of all vascular access devices including triple lumen catheters, Hickman, Broviac, and PICC’s and implanted port-a-caths
- Skillfully performing central line removal, when indicated (with the exception of tunneled and implanted central venous catheters)
- Monitors proper utilization of vascular access and infusion equipment
- Participates in the care of patients receiving specific intravenous therapy including Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) and/or blood/blood products
- Participates with ongoing education initiatives for healthcare providers, patient and their families
- Facilitates staff competencies as it relates to IV therapy

Requirements
- Nursing degree with 5 years experience in related acute area preferred
- Graduate of Nursing with current registration from country of training/origin
- Current CPR, ACLS
- Minimum 1 year experience in vascular access as it relates to Phlebotomy and IV Therapy.
- Must be willing to obtain International IV Certification (CVAA/INS) within one year
- Experience in physical assessment essential
- Eligible for registration in Bermuda
