IMS is now seeking A CLINICAL DIRECTOR INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES coming from a background in psychology, social work, nursing, counselling or a related field.

The successful candidate will oversee and provide strategic focus to the Intellectual Disabilities services inclusive of the Group Homes, Community Intellectual Disabilities Team and the Day Programme. They will have accountability for the effective and efficient utilization of resources allocated to the Intellectual Disabilities Directorate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining the operational priorities and action plans to meet the organizational strategic plan within the scope of their directorate.
  • Offering clinical expertise and leadership as a partner in carrying out the Strategic Direction and service development.
  • Ensuring that clinical, business and operational policies, procedures, and processes are evidenced-based, adhere to best practices, and meet accreditation and regulatory requirements with patient safety at the forefront.
  • Monitoring clinical, human resources and operational indicators to identify, explain and correct variances in a timely manner as defined and required by the organization.
  • Collaborating with other managers as appropriate to promote system solutions and resolve issues that cross directorate lines.
  • Lead the strategic development and business planning for the Directorate

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, nursing, counselling or related field with concentration in mental health from an accredited school required, or equivalent training, certification and/or experience
  • Master’s / post-graduate education required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years ‘management experience in a related area.
  • Demonstrated superior communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills
  • Eligible for registration in Bermuda (Bermuda Nurses Council or Allied Health Council)
