The client’s Imaging Services Department is is now urgently looking for a Cardiac Sonographer.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepares exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct Sonography examinations in accordance with relevant protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Uses proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques.
  • Applies independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic Sonography procedures.
  • Reviews examination images, synthesises examination results, and prepares the preliminary findings.
  • Refers specific diagnostic treatment or prognosis questions to the appropriate Physician or healthcare professional.
  • Operates and maintains Imaging support equipment (Probes, Trophon, etcetera) in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assists with the daily operation of the Sonography Facility.
  • Supports on-call and stand-by to patient care areas

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Sonography / Cardiac Sonography
  • Undergraduate degree in Medical Imaging or Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution
  • Post graduate qualification desirable in General Sonography and / or Cardiac Sonography
  • Registration / certification from an accredited program in Cardiac Sonography.
  • Excellent English
