RMO JOBS FROM IMS RECRUITMENT
IMS can offer numerous positions for doctors wanting to work as Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) in various countries.
The job specifications, terms and conditions and requirements for each RMO role vary significantly between the numerous clients that we have employing RMOs in various countries.
The RMO jobs on offer from IMS are all with well very established, reputable hospitals that offer excellent benefits including fixed term contracts, work permits (if needed) and excellent remuneration and other benefits including free meals and accommodation when on duty.
Though for many of the RMO jobs that IMS are currently offering, it is a requirement that you remain on site for a period of one to two weeks (mainly those in the UK), but we also have a large number of RMO positions that do not require that you have to stay on site permanently but work on a shift basis (and you can live off-site).
Frequently our various clients use the term “RMO” to describe a doctor job that they have on offer but there are huge variations in the requirements and roles of RMOs between different IMS clients in different countries.
For example:
- Most RMO roles in the UK require a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a surgical/ICU or anaesthetics and doctors work one or two weeks on, then a week off.
- Most contracts in the UK and Ireland are for a minimum of 6 -12 months (and then can be extended). In all other countries the contracts are for 12-24 months.
- In Ireland, hospitals have accepted doctors in general medicine as well as surgical; the RMO doctors here work regular shifts.
- In Malta and Libya the requirements vary and the doctors required as RMOs can have varied backgrounds including ICU, anaesthetics, accident and emergency and family medicine.
- For psychiatric RMO jobs in the UK, naturally the requirement is for doctors with some recent experience in psychiatry.
- Many of the RMO jobs in the Middle East would mainly be suitable for hospital middle grade doctors and the requirements vary in terms of clinical experience.
