Overview of role
Medical Assessors use their clinical expertise to carry out medical examinations and provide medical advice on people who claim various types of benefit. Examinations are performed in over 150 centres nation-wide or in the claimant’s home. Full training is given to allow Medical Advisers to become specialists in the field of Disability Assessment. A Medical Assesor needs to be able to assess and examine all of the physical and mental conditions which affect an individual’s capacity to work. The doctor needs to be able to analyse information and medical evidence and present a report in a concise and professional manner.
Requirements
We are looking for doctors with broad based examination, investigation, diagnostic skills and experience. A background including rehabilitation medicine, disability assessment or psychiatry would be an added advantage.

- Internists
- Occupational Health
- Neurologists
- Rehabilitation medicine
All appplicants will need:
- A minimum of 3 years’ post registration general medical experience
- Full registration with the General Medical Council. See our guidance notes
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Basic IT skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Package Summary
- Basic Salary starting at £50,000
- Overtime available by agreement
