Malta is a beautiful and historic Mediterranean island offering a wonderful standard of living for overseas medical staff. Malta is a small and densely populated island nation comprising of seven islands in the Mediterranean Sea.

Medical Opportunities
Many overseas doctors and nurses currently work throughout the islands. Though the salaries are less than (say) the UK, they are comparable to those of many Middle East hospitals and the cost of living is low and the quality of life is of a high standard.
IMS has contracts with various private hospitals in Malta and vacancies exist for a range of English speaking medical personnel.
Nurses
Malta has a shortage of qualified nurses and this is reflected in number of vacancies we have with various hospitals in the islands. IMS works with private healthcare providers, recruiting nurses of all levels of experience and specialisms for Malta’s leading hospitals.
There are many nurses recruited from across Central Europe already working in Malta. We regularly conduct interviews for candidates across the new members of the European Union Accession countries offering well rewarded positions.
Resident Medical Officers (RMOS)
RMOs form part of the 24 hour medical team cover providing routine and urgent medical care in various private hospitals throughout Malta. Doctors of many disciplines are invited to apply, including emergency, surgical, internists and anesthetists. These roles will usually appeal to doctors with 3-10 years clinical experience.
The RMOs provide 24 hour coverage with one RMO presence always and two RMOs to work simultaneously during peak hours or as the workload dictates.
RMOs must attend to any patient, visitor or staff needing their care whilst on the hospital premises, but are not obliged to attend to individuals outside the hospital grounds, unless specifically instructed by senior management and alternative RMO cover is available for the hospital meantime.
RMOs are expected to carry out duties for which they are fully competent and to abstain from duties obviously beyond their capabilities – the latter should be delegated to more senior members of the medical profession
Rio’s will work in hospitals providing a comprehensive range of healthcare services - ranging from simple blood tests to diagnostic scans, from cosmetic surgery to dental services, from hair removal by laser to complex surgery.
Salaries start at 35,000 euros per annum plus accommodation allowances and various other benefits.
Doctors
We have vacancies for a wide range of doctors; both in terms of experience and specialisms.
There are many opportunities for both junior and experienced doctors in Malta. IMS works with various public and private healthcare providers, recruiting doctors of all levels of experience and specialisms for jobs in the leading Maltese hospitals.
We recruit for three different areas: experienced, hospital-based specialists, experienced family doctors and junior doctors.
Specialist Doctors Jobs
We have many opportunities for every conceivable specialism; from oncology to histopathology and from haematology to radiology. In particular demand is anaesthetists, family doctors, radiologists, cardiologists, psychiatrists and orthopaedic surgeons.

For family doctors, IMS has numerous vacancies throughout Malta working in surgeries in the community.
Junior Doctors Jobs
We can also offer positions in both private hospitals for doctors with a minimum of three years experience since qualification
